Perks explained

At the University of Northampton, applicable students are able to receive ‘Student Perks’. There are currently three options, a free laptop to aid your studies, a discount on accommodation, or catering credit for onsite catering facilities. The student perk I chose was the free laptop. When I picked this perk, the laptop was a HP Probook, however this is subject to change each year. The best part about the student perk is that I get to keep the laptop even after I finish my undergraduate degree!

The benefits of the laptop

Having this laptop, it means I am able to study whenever and wherever I choose. I could go to the library or stay at home, maybe even visit a little coffee shop. The choice is mine. Although if you picked a different perk or are not eligible, you are actually able to borrow a laptop in the library! Though I have found it easier with the free laptop perk, as I can keep all my documents on my laptop and find them easily.

Library Access at home

Another perk of the laptop is I can access the online library from the comfort of my home. This means I do not have to visit the library to read certain books or use journals for my assignments, instead I have easy online access to them on my laptop. This option makes studying so much easier and less stressful. The ability to study wherever means I am able to complete my assignments in the best way for me.

I highly recommend picking the free laptop perk if you’re eligible, it has made my studies stress free and allows me to travel wherever I go!
