This intensive one-day CPD course is designed for Band 5 physiotherapists and community physiotherapists looking to consolidate and refresh their core cardiorespiratory skills. Delivered in a small-group, hands-on format by experienced clinical educators Alex Mouzakitis and Fiona Barrett, the day provides a structured and practical approach to respiratory physiotherapy assessment and management. Participants will work through real clinical scenarios, building decision-making skills and confidence in a supported environment. Approximately 6 hours of CPD is covered, and a certificate of attendance is provided on completion.
This one-day CPD course provides physiotherapists with a structured and practical refresher in core cardiorespiratory skills. Delivered in a small-group format, the day combines evidence-based theory with hands-on practical sessions covering respiratory assessment, oxygen therapy, airway clearance techniques, and manual physiotherapy. Participants work through real clinical case studies to consolidate decision-making and develop confidence in managing common respiratory presentations.
There is no formal assessment. Learning is consolidated through case-based discussion and practical application throughout the day.
Yes, a certificate of attendance is issued to all participants and can be used as evidence in your CPD portfolio.
Comfortable clothing suitable for practical activities is recommended. All clinical materials and resources will be provided on the day.

This course supports career development for physiotherapists working in or moving into respiratory and acute care settings. It is particularly relevant for Band 5 practitioners progressing towards Band 6 roles, or community physiotherapists extending their acute respiratory competencies.
