Picking a student perk at UON

At the University of Northampton, UK students who are studying an undergraduate degree can choose one student perk from three options: a free laptop, credit at on-site campus eateries, or a student accommodation discount.

Choosing the laptop has benefited me so much through my whole university experience, and I think that it is definitely something that you should consider when picking your perk!

Why I chose the laptop perk

When I applied to Northampton, the laptop perk stood out to me as it allows for learning to be accessible to anyone.

As someone who studies forensic psychology, my course consists of a lot of reading and researching, so the laptop has allowed me to easily do these things.

How the laptop perk has helped me

Accessibility and organisation has been the biggest benefit to this perk. It has allowed me to use the paid softwares the university provides such as Microsoft 365 and SPSS to help benefit my studies. Having the laptop also allows my lecture notes, readings and assignments to all be in one place, making everything easier to access.

Additionally, it has given me the flexibility to work anywhere, whether I’m studying in the library, attending lectures or working from home. The convenience and reliability of having my own laptop has made my university experience much easier and productive overall.
