A round up of recent mentions in the media of the University, our graduates, staff and students.

Senior Lecturer in Journalism Kate Ironside spoke to BBC Radio 3 Counties after former Conservative Chancellor Nadim Zahawi defected to the Reform party and what the current state of play is with the local political scene. Listen again (starts at 1hr 39mins).

The British Theatre Guide and Northamptonshire Telegraph report that the cast – including a community chorus of 25 UON, third-year Acting students – has been announced for the world premiere of ‘Top Gs Like Me’, a brand-new play by Samson Hawkins.

Gerry Gable obituaries in the Guardian and The Jewish Chronicle mention that in 2011 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University, which since 2013 has housed the Searchlight archive. The Jewish Chronicle also runs an obituary.

Groundbreaking new therapy using virtual reality and artificial intelligence could soon help people overcome debilitating phobias and trauma, thanks to a collaboration between University of Northampton and St. Andrew’s Healthcare, as reported by the Chronicle & Echo.

The University will host the annual awards ceremony for the Early Childhood Studies Degree Network, with three UON graduates up for trophies. The news is reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph.

The Granary at Fawsley, a popular wedding venue in the county, recently announced it was closing.
