Student Influencers
Let’s be honest, being a student isn’t cheap. Between rent, transport, groceries, and course materials, the cost of living can build up fast. That’s why I jumped at the idea to become a Student Content Creator (Also known as a Student Influencer) at UON, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.
At first, I applied because I thought it would be fun to create social media content and write blogs about student life. But then I realised that the role offered much more than just experience. It offered real financial support. Being paid for time and creativity has helped cover everything from rent, food and train tickets home.
The flexibility of the job is a massive bonus. I can choose if I want to film content, write posts or attend events, which means it fits perfectly around my studies. I’m not stuck doing shifts late into the night or missing lectures. Instead, I’m gaining work experience and a bit of extra income doing something I genuinely enjoy.

One of the most rewarding parts has been assisting other students. Whether it’s sharing study tips, talking about student life, and unheard-of courses.
I feel like I’m a part of something positive. And getting paid to be authentic is a bigger plus.
If you’re looking for a flexible. Paid opportunity that boosts your confidence, builds your skills, and helps you manage the cost of living. I cannot recommend this role enough. Being a student influencer at UON has been fun, practical and financially helpful, and it could be for you too.
