I chose to study at the University of Northampton because of its strong international business curriculum and supportive learning environment. The University’s focus on employability and practical experience matched my goal of applying academic knowledge to real-world contexts, and the opportunity to work with local organisations such as Northampton Town Football Club also allowed me to connect my passion for sports with business management.
My goal is to build a career in international business and cross-border logistics, where I can combine my understanding of global trade with my communication and teamwork skills. I hope to contribute to developing efficient, sustainable supply chains that connect businesses and cultures across the world.
The course programme enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of international markets, cultural diversity, and global business strategies. Also, the group projects and real-life case studies have improved my leadership and cross-cultural communication skills, which are essential for working in a global business environment.
The most useful skills I’ve gained from the course are critical thinking, data analysis, and inter-cultural communication. These have helped me approach international trade problems from different perspectives and they are directly relevant to my current work in cross-border logistics.
The advice I would give to undergraduates interested in this career path would be to take every opportunity to gain real-world experience. Internships, volunteering, or part-time work will all help you discover your strengths and shape your career direction.
My experience at UON was practical, inspiring, diverse, and full of real-world opportunities.
