Dr Mish joined the Psychology Team after a varied career across the helping professions. She is a qualified and accredited Psychotherapist, a Coach and a Clinical Supervisor. She has worked in mental health charities and as a Probation Officer in the Criminal Justice System, working in both the community, the courts and in Prisons. She has guest lectured at universities, delivered training across the private sector and maintains a small private clinical practice in Leicestershire.
Mish currently teaches on the MSc and the undergraduate CAMH programme.
Dr Mish is a qualitative researcher, with an interest in the resilience and wellbeing of practitioners who help others as part of their professional role, and Clinical Supervision across the helping professions. She has researched how self-care is addressed in the clinical supervision of counsellor and psychotherapists, and how newly qualified counsellors are impacted by working with clients who have experienced domestic abuse. She is a member of the Health, Education & Behaviour Change (HEBC) research group.

Mish also hosts a podcast about helping parents help their children with mental health, has been a guest on several podcasts, and has appeared in the media speaking and writing about resilience, burnout and stress.
