Dr Oluseyi Oyedeji is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Ontology Engineering, and Blockchain Systems. He holds dual PhDs in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from Cranfield University, UK and the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His work bridges advanced AI research with real-world system design, particularly in areas involving defect identification, transparency, and intelligent decision support systems across engineering, administrative, and industrial domains.
He has collaborated on industry-funded research projects with organisations including Rolls-Royce and Leonardo Aerospace, applying AI techniques to predictive maintenance, supply chain optimisation, and knowledge modelling.
Dr Oyedeji teaches across modules in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Systems Design & Development, Big Data Systems, and Blockchain Technology. His teaching approach focuses on practical system development, industry relevance, and helping students translate computing theory into deployable real-world solutions.
He supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is particularly interested in mentoring students working in AI, data science, and software system design.
Dr Oyedeji’s research focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence, computer vision, ontologies, and blockchain technology to solve complex human and organisational problems. His work includes deep learning techniques for defect identification in engineering materials, ontology-based modelling for knowledge sharing and system interoperability, and blockchain-enabled provenance systems for transparency and accountability in administrative processes.
His long-term research vision is to advance computer vision techniques for defect analysis across multiple domains and to develop blockchain-enabled systems that improve transparency and traceability in industry and government.
Dr Oyedeji has published in leading peer-reviewed journals including Applied Soft Computing, CIRP Annals, and Procedia CIRP, with research contributions spanning AI-driven defect identification, semantic modelling of degradation knowledge, ontology engineering, and blockchain-based administrative systems.
