Choosing the right accommodation for you: Why Waterside Village was the right place for me.

Student Accommodation

Choosing your accommodation is important in creating your university experience. It can influence everything from studying habits, social life and well-being. For me, living on campus in Waterside Village provided the balance for convenience, affordability, and community. Here’s why my accommodation has been the perfect choice.

Easy Access to Campus

One of the standout reasons I chose my accommodation was its proximity to campus; more importantly, my lecture buildings. Being close to lectures, study spaces, and the facilities has saved time and energy, making it easier to focus on my studies. With a Morrisons Daily on campus, a large Morrisons and Asda supermarket, and a gym about a 5-minute walk away, I have everything I need within reach, reducing the stress of commuting and daily activities.

Affordable and Budget Friendly

Finances are a major factor in life, and this accommodation provides excellent value for money. With rent covering utilities such as water, heating and internet, budgeting has become simple and effective, giving me financial freedom to enjoy activities and experiences.

Safety and precautions

Feeling safe was my main priority in an accommodation. UON provides secure accommodation with key-card access, staff assistance and 24/7 on-site security. Knowing that my environment was safe, well-maintained and monitored has allowed me to focus more on studying with a peace of mind.

Social Environment

Living in a shared student accommodation has been an effective way of meeting new people and building friendships. Whether it’s socialising in common areas, participating in event, forming study groups, the communal area’s offer a range of personal and academic growth.

Similarly, it gives a sense of independence; managing my own space, preparing meals and taking responsibility for daily tasks helped me grow in a personal and social sense. Especially during dinner hours, where we group, learn recipes, and bond over different interests.

Townhouse accommodation

Choosing an on-campus accommodation is one of the most effective and best decisions I’ve made.

Its convenience, affordability, social opportunities and security, it has provided everything for a memorable university experience.
