Overview


The purpose of this level 7, 20 credit module is to enable students to identify and critically analyse substance misuse theory and practice and contemporary issues which influence the promotion of health.  There is a strong focus is on sociological, historical and cultural perspectives of substance misuse, along with ethical, legal and political considerations.  The module will support transference of this knowledge into enhancing the student’s professional practice and promoting the development of others.

Entry Requirements


Applicants must hold a first class Nursing degree or evidence of recent Level 6 study.
