Simon McLinden is currently an Associate Lecturer and Director in Screen Acting at the University of Northampton. A former professional actor, he trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and is a graduate of the MA Acting and Training Coaching course at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
On TV he was a regular in Emmerdale as well as making guest appearances in Coronation St and The Bill amongst several other TV shows. He has also done innumerable commercials and several films including Dominion – prequel to The Exorcist and playing the lead in the multi-award winning Paradox.
As an educator, Simon has over 20 years of teaching and directing experience. He has worked on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at LAMDA, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, East 15, Drama Studio London, London Film Academy, University of Algarve and University of Cambridge Footlights. He was also a Fulbright Scholar teaching in Boston, USA.
