  • Abdul joined Higher Education as lecturer in Policing and Investigations at De Montfort University following a 30 year career as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service where he served in a range of operational roles including Counter Terrorism, Hostage & Crisis Negotiation, Anti-Corruption, Professional Standards, Special Branch and Neighbourhood Policing. His current role at the University of Northampton includes teaching Evidence Based Policing and Professional Police Practice.

    Abdul is also a member of the London Policing Ethics Panel, the Advance HE Race Equality Charter Panel and an External Examiner for a London University. His research interest includes diversity and inclusion challenges in policing, pedagogy of police ethics and ethical policing and communication and negotiation in different fields.
