Dr Mahdi Seify is a Senior Lecturer in Project Management and Business Analytics at the University of Northampton, where he leads the MSc Business Analytics programme and directs the FASTER Lab (Future Analytics, Systems, Technology & Emerging Research).
He holds a PhD in AI-Driven Business Analytics from the University of Liverpool, an MBA in Information Systems, and a BEng in Industrial Engineering (Systems Analysis) from Sharif University of Technology. His doctoral research, conducted within the NHS clinical laboratory at the Royal Hospital Liverpool, pioneered the Deep Business Analytics (DBA) framework — enhancing the Management Control Systems with LSTM-based predictive analytics and AI agents to transform strategic control from reactive to proactive.
Dr Seify’s career spans over 15 years across academia, healthcare, public sector, and enterprise. He is an IoA Fellow, PMP®, PMI-ACP®, PMI-PBA®, CQRM®, and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor and Implementer, with expertise in AI readiness and governance, workflow orchestration, and human-in-the-loop (HITL) automation.
He has successfully managed or contributed to more than 100 projects ranging from £12 000 to £200 million, including initiatives with the World Bank, Unilever’s Materials Innovation Factory, and health-audit agencies in Germany. His practical leadership and research combine AI, data analytics, Business and project management to build explainable, ethical, and value-driven AI systems.
