Mateusz Gizicki is an engineer, researcher, and Associate Lecturer in engineering and technology at the University of Northampton. His work combines academic teaching, applied research, and industry collaboration, particularly in engineering diagnostics, inspection technologies, and renewable energy infrastructure. He maintains active links with industry to support practice-informed teaching and applied engineering research.
Mateusz contributes to teaching across engineering modules including analytical methods, engineering mathematics, non-destructive testing, inspection technologies, and applied engineering science. His teaching focuses on practical engineering application, analytical skills development, and industry-relevant problem solving, alongside assessment preparation, moderation, and student project supervision.
His research interests include multiphysics engineering modelling, heat transfer and fluid flow, condition monitoring, engineering diagnostics, UAV-enabled inspection systems, thermography, and infrastructure monitoring. His work emphasises applied engineering research and integration of modelling, measurement, and digital inspection technologies.
Mateusz has contributed to peer-reviewed conference publications including “Classification and Recognition of Roller Bearing Damage in Lift Installations Using Supervised Machine Learning and Vibration Analysis” and “The Investigation of Efficacy and Fire Resistance Characteristics of Fire Barrier in the Lift Industry Applications.” His work also includes conference research on fire barrier systems for lift shafts and engineering diagnostics of vertical transportation systems.
