Applicant Visit Days
Invitation only for all applicants and offer holders
Why attend your Applicant Visit Day
Choosing a university is a big decision, and our Applicant Visit Day gives you the chance to experience Northampton as if you were already a student. Unlike a general Open Day, these invitation only events are designed specifically for people who have applied or hold an offer, so everyone you meet will be on the same journey as you.
You’ll take part in engaging student only taster sessions in your chosen subject, explore the campus and our award-winning facilities, and meet current students who can share their honest experiences of life at UON. You’ll also have access to expert advice on accommodation, support services, and student life both on and off campus – everything you need to picture yourself here.
You’re welcome to bring parents, carers, and/or supporters with you.
What’s included in your Visit Day
Your Applicant Visit Day is built around you – your subject, your interests, and your next steps. Here’s what you can expect:
- Student Only Academic Taster Sessions: Get a genuine feel for your course through hands-on, interactive activities led by your future lecturers giving you clarity, confidence, and a real sense of whether this feels like your university. You’ll meet other applicants who have chosen the same subject – potential future classmates and friends.
- Meet Current Students: Ask questions and get real insight into studying at Northampton – from workload and teaching style to societies, sports, and student life both on and off campus.
- Academic & Student Support Drop-ins: Meet academic staff, student services, and student finance and wellbeing teams at dedicated drop-in desks throughout the day and learn how we will support you to thrive throughout your time at UON and beyond.
- Opportunities Beyond Your Degree: Chat to support teams about subject placements, internships, part time work, and careers information.
- Campus, Town & Accommodation Tours: Explore your future home. Whether you plan to live in halls or commute, you’ll see your options firsthand, supported by student ambassadors and staff.
- Student Fair: Meet clubs, societies, sports teams, and take part in activities showcasing the community you could be joining.
