Most of the books and photocopies requested are
obtained from the British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC) at
Boston Spa in West Yorkshire. This is the largest library in Europe
uniquely dedicated to document delivery with over 3 million books,
47,000 current journal titles and over 4 million microform documents.
Items not held by the British Library may be obtained form other
university libraries or public libraries across the UK.
We transmit requests to the BLDSC electronically
using Artemail (Automated Request Transmission by E-mail) which is very
quick and aids a speedy delivery.
Nursing Union List of Journals (NULJ) is a reciprocal scheme that will supply photocopies of journal articles. It includes about 200 health, medical, nursing or academic libraries in the UK.
IFLA (International Federation of Library
Associations and Institutions) - we use the IFLA voucher scheme when
applying directly to overseas libraries.
