Welcome to BA Law with Criminology 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you to your studies here at the University of Northampton.
During your first year, you will have the opportunity to visit a court and to explore current socio-legal issues relating to race, gender, environmental justice, and human rights. You will be able to join the University of Northampton Student Law Society, who will support you in your career aspirations and to develop those all-important employability skills.

Your course leaders manage the running of your course and are happy to discuss any queries that you have. We regularly seek feedback from students and implements changes to enhance your experience of studying with us.
Preparing for your course
In preparation for your course starting in September, we are holding an online session which will give you the chance to meet Law tutors and to raise any questions that you have and to meet other students studying Law.

When you arrive at the University of Northampton, there’s plenty to get involved with during Welcome Week. However, there are specific sessions taking place as part of your course induction that’ll help you settle in and prepare for teaching to start the following week:
Wednesday 23 September
Session: Welcome to your course and induction
Meet the course lead, tutors and connect with fellow students studying Law with Criminology. Find out key information about the course, timetable and the support available to help you succeed!
- Time: 10 – 12pm
- Where: SN110, 1st floor, Senate
Session: Law Social and Quiz (for all students studying Law)
- Time: 1 – 3pm
- Where: SN204, Senate building, Waterside campus
Session: Course Leader Drop-in
Join this session to chat about any queries or worries before you start, or use it as a little confidence boost in a friendly, informal environment.
- Time: 3 – 4pm
- Where: Drop-in zone on the second floor of the Learning Hub (outside LH201)
Session: Library Induction
Find out about what the Library and Learning Resources team can do for you and get a head start with your studies (you only need to attend either Wednesday’s or Thursday’s session)

Session: The Faculty Welcome Experience!
This is how we love to kick things off in the Faculty of Business Law! This fun and friendly social event brings music, unique games, party food and more to our new student and staff community. Hosted by the faculty Student Experience Assistant Team (SEAT), this is a great opportunity to connect and mix with peers and tutors from Business, Management, Analytics, Marketing, Hospitality, Law, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Criminology, Criminal Justice & Policing course communities. We promise you’ll have a great time…NOT TO BE MISSED!
