Geography BSc Welcome Pack

Welcome to Geography BSc 2023.

Welcome to Geography at the University of Northampton! In this programme, you will explore physical and human factors impacting on our environment, and how these are being addressed at local, national and international levels. We’ll also explore how you can influence change. You will learn through small group teaching, one-to-one tutorials, online resources and a range of fieldwork activities.

Welcome and Induction Sessions

We know that you will have lots of questions (and maybe some worries) about starting your degree, so we are holding some online sessions to help you find out more about Geography BSc course and university life, as well as in-person introductory sessions:

  • Monday 11 September

This online session will be delivered using Blackboard Collaborate (which is broadly similar to using Zoom, which you may have used before). You don’t need to download any software or set up an account in order to participate.

Test whether your browser will work with Collaborate. Review the student guide to using Collaborate. You won’t need to put on your camera or microphone, but can if you wish.

If you are unable to attend this session, you can arrange an individual online chat by emailing faith.tucker@northampton.ac.uk.

  • This is your induction timetable for the week commencing 18 September, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact induction organiser Dr Faith Tucker: faith.tucker@northampton.ac.uk.
