These attributes will bring further expertise to the University as we develop our plans for our state-of-the-art Waterside Campus.  David’s entrepreneurial background will further strengthen our ethos and dedication to providing our students with more than just a good degree.”

Commenting on his appointment, David Laing said: “I am fortunate that the role of the Pro Chancellor is new to the University of Northampton, this gives me the opportunity to define the role and the way it works with the wider University community, building on its reputation as a leading University.

“I hope to further develop the links and networks already in place within Northamptonshire to create a University at the heart of the economic and cultural development of the region.

“Looking to the future, I will be encouraging the Court of the University to focus its activity on enabling the University to offer the best possible in terms of facilities, teaching and learning opportunities and student experience; creating well rounded, motivated graduates who have the skills employers want.”
