Dr Sally Cook, a Senior Lecturer in Acting and Drama at the University of Northampton, has been awarded a £15,000 research and development grant by Arts Council England to test new theatrical ground – blending masks with elements of contemporary theatre practice.

The funding is to create an original piece of theatre and the practical research will culminate in six performances, to take place at the University of Northampton in April next year.

Dr Cook explained: “The project responds to the theme of Changemaker, as the content of the show will help young adults reflect on their drinking habits. The venture has also been funded by the University of Northampton’s Innovation Fund as it promotes responsible drinking to students in a (hopefully) highly entertaining and innovative manner.”
