Staff Profile

  • Mairi Mulvenna was appointed as Lecturer in Sport Psychology at the University of Northampton in September 2019. Mairi achieved her Bachelors (Hons) degree in Sport Science from St Mary’s University, Twickenham and remained there to complete her master’s degree in Applied Sport Psychology.

    Following this, Mairi went on to undertake a PhD at Coventry University titled “Motivational Determinants Underpinning The Optimal and Diminished Functioning of Adult Sport Performers: A Test of A Theoretically Integrated Achievement Goal and Self-Determination Approach”. With reference to developing a research profile, Mairi is currently in the process of preparing the manuscripts from her PhD thesis to send off to a number of peer-reviewed international journals. With interests surrounding athlete motivation, well- and ill-being, and performance in sport, Mairi would welcome any enquiries with regards to research collaborations.
