Professor Jane Murray was quoted in an i paper article about how often babies and very young children should spend in front of computer and TV screens (link not available). Professor Murray’s comments were picked up by other media titles, including Greatest Hits Northamptonshire.

Dr Charlotte Dann’s expert comments featured in a Marie Claire magazine article about why people unfollow the social media accounts of women who post about being pregnant.

More than 1,300 students crossed the Royal & Derngate stage and celebrated being graduates at our spring ceremonies, as reported by the Midlands Gazette. The story of one of our four new Honorary Fellows, Rachel Mallows, MBE, features in Love Business East Midlands.

UON academic Dr Phillippa Bennett and Student Outreach and Engagement Officer Lucy Brazier were interviewed on BBC Radio Northamptonshire, picking the station’s next Book Club text. Research led by the University’s Danielle Jex, Senior Lecturer in Immunology, explores how endometriosis could influence the development of ovarian cancer and lead to improved future treatments, as reported by BBC News Online and Yahoo! News UK. Danielle’s research was also mentioned during BBC Radio Northamptonshire’s headlines.

Warehouse and Logistics News report that Clare Bottle is the new Chair of the Northamptonshire Logistics Industry Forum, which is hosted by the University.

UON researcher Dr Michael Daws will a presentation at the Life, Death and Consciousness: What happens next? event to be held later this month, as reported by the Chester Standard and Chester Dee Radio.

Fashion students from the University have been recognised in a prestigious national design competition run by the Worshipful Company of Glovers of London, as reported by the Midlands Gazette.

Biological and Environmental Science students are leading field-based research projects that are revealing how little is known about biodiversity and pollution in their local environment. Their various projects are reported by the Chronicle & Echo.

Graduate Edna Ann Quarshie, a former agricultural officer who spent five years working with cocoa farmers in rural Ghana, is now helping Northampton Town Football Club increase footfall and revenue using the analytical skills gained at UON. Her story was reported by MSN News UK.
