- Solicitor
I qualified as a solicitor following a degree in Modern Languages and taking the law conversion course. I soon decided that this wasn't the career for me and moved into lecturing, both here and at Northampton College. I have also worked for the Solicitors' Regulator dealing with complaints about solicitors' services and as a debt counsellor and volunteer advisor with the Citizens' Advice Bureau.
I am the co-ordinator of the 2 year intensive LLB Degree and am also jointly responsible for the implementation of personal development planning across the Law field. I am involved in working groups on electronic portfolios and in electronic submission of coursework. I sit on the School's teaching and learning committee and am also involved in the Equality and Diversity Work of the Division and School.
I have a particular research interest in how the law affects churches, looking at clergy discipline, discrimination and operational issues.
Away from work, I am kept busy with two children and their social life. I also enjoy swimming, walking and reading. I regularly help at my local church and at my daughter's school.
