Newton building Kingsley Park
We have taken ownership of one of Northampton's best-known educational buildings next door to Avenue Campus in St George's Avenue.
The former grade II listed school built in 1915 has been re-named the Newton Building. The building will be home to the School of Science and Technology and house a cutting edge 3D immersive technology facility as part of the Nvision initiative.
Campus master plan
The University has selected Alison Brooks Architects as the winner of a two stage master plan competition for architects to plan future developments at Avenue Campus.
The vision is to create a Campus for creative technologies bringing together synergies between the Arts and Sciences.
The University’s Estates department and designers are currently engaged in consultation with stakeholders as the proposals are being developed.
Portfolio Innovation Centre
The Portfolio Innovation Centre has secured a second round of funding from West Northants Development Agency and East Midlands Development Agency, to add a further 31 business incubation units to the original 15.
The Centre houses workshops and offices supporting start-up businesses in the creative and digital industries.
