Why did you decide to study at the University of Northampton?

The University of Northampton is the only university in Europe offering a BSc programme in Leather Technology.

What are your career goals/aspirations?

I’m going to be a CEO one day.

How do you think your studies will help your career or personal development when you graduate?

Having a degree from UON and the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) opens a door for leather students, to the worldwide leather industry.

Which, if any, skills and knowledge/understanding gained on your degree do you feel will be most useful in your future career?

At the ICLT, we are taught every aspect of the leather industry – from actual leather-making to leather testing, sustainability and managing the business. It all will be useful as I’ll have a chance to start anywhere and do anything once I graduate.

Do you do any extra-curricular activities at UON?

Yes, I’m Chairperson of our leather society – Corium Club.

How do you think these extra-curricular activities will enhance your career prospects?

Corium Club is a society with 103 years of tradition and I’m extremely proud to be Chairperson. I don’t really need or want to use it to enhance my career prospects, although I think it will help. Being part of it is enough – Corium Club is lifetime and so is our membership.

In one sentence, what advice would you give to undergraduates interested in this career path or anything you wish you had known earlier?

I’d say if you really want to, you can do it all.

In ten words, or less how would you summarise your UON experience?

My ICLT experience has been great.
