Waterside to host 11th Global Healthy Workplace Summit

Date 19.07.2023

How organisations can create the healthiest work environments and practices will be explored during a major, three-day autumn event at Waterside.

Throughout the three days (30 August–1 September) of the 11th Global Healthy Workplace Summit attendees will explore what the best are doing to create healthy workplaces and gain insights to take back to their own.

The theme is ‘Good Health is Good Business’ and is hosted by the Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces. The event will build on the international success of previous Summits hosted around the globe.

The Summit will cover a wide range of issues, including the following topics (a full agenda will be published in due course):

  • Navigating the Future of Work.
  • The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Opportunities and Threats for the Workplace.
  • Evidence Analysis for the 4-Day Working Week.
  • Designing Healthy Workplaces.

Speakers will include UON Vice Chancellor Professor Anne-Marie Kilday, Professor Dame Carol Black, DBE (former government advisor or workplace health), and leaders from BT, IBM, Lendlease, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD), Eurofund, and many more.

Anne-Marie Kilday says: “I am delighted the University of Northampton has been chosen to host the Global Healthy Workplace Summit 2023 following in the footsteps of prestigious universities in the United States, Italy, and Australia who have hosted previous Summits.

“The event provides an opportunity to showcase the University’s work relating to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our ongoing investment in the working environment. The hosting of the Summit is also timely as it is taking place within weeks of the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Waterside Campus on 1 August 2023, which was designed to include collaborative, adaptable and attractive workspaces for all staff.”

Tommy Hutchinson, Co-Director at Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces, and lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the University of Northampton, adds: “We are excited to bring this important summit to our community. This is a unique opportunity for businesses and organisations to learn from the best in the field and to take steps to improve the health, wellbeing, and safety of their employees.”

The summit is open to all individuals, businesses, and organisations, regardless of size or industry. Registration is now open. To learn more and to register, please visit the Global Healthy Workplace website.
