Students’ Take Me Out Fashion Marketing event is a sell-out success

Date 20.05.2019

Deborah Oshiga and Naquelle Chukwuka have a great future in fashion marketing if their Take Me Out fundraiser is anything to go by.

The pair of second year Fashion Marketing students organised a fundraising evening based on ITV’s hit dating gameshow – and the event held at the University of Northampton, which was aimed at the institution’s BAME community, was a complete sell out.

Scores of students packed into the Creative Hub at Waterside Campus for the event, which saw nine male and 16 female students take part in the game show.

The event raised £750, which went towards the funding of a second event which raised cash for the mental health charity Mind and students participating in Graduate Fashion Week – you can read more about that event here.

Deborah said: “The night was a great success and was a huge achievement for all of the BAME students who were involved.

“The event showcased many talents and skills behind the scenes, with everyone working really hard to make it a success and we were delighted with the huge turnout.

“We are planning more events for next year, including another Take Me Out night, a ball and a debate.”

Deborah and Naquelle would like to thank 225 Entertainment, Fashion Lecturer Gavin Douglas, hosts Naje and Jay, and all the students who volunteered their time, including photographer Dara, DJ Mudiwa and Gloria for supplying cupcakes

Vouchers for the contestants’ dates were donated by Nando’s Northampton, Vue Cinema and Laser Zone.
