New Year Message from Vice Chancellor Anne-Marie Kilday

Date 10.01.2023

The University of Northampton’s Vice Chancellor, Anne-Marie Kilday, would like to share the following New Year message:

Hello everyone.  My name is Anne-Marie and I am your Vice Chancellor.  Happy New Year and I hope you had a relaxing festive break.

When I joined the University in August last year, I made a few initial promises.  As we welcome in 2023, I’d like to renew my commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in order to build a welcoming, inclusive community.

I have been delighted to participate in events to celebrate Black History and Disability History Months and look forward to attending further events throughout the forthcoming year including Pride Northampton which will be taking place on campus in July.

2023 will also see the approval and implementation of a new strategic plan and vision for the University.  It is really important that we hear from students in the development of the plan and vision so please share your views directly or through the Students’ Union and make the University of Northampton a place you are proud to study at.

I’ve also embraced every opportunity to meet with students from across the University, but I appreciate I haven’t met everybody.  As your Vice Chancellor, I want to be as available and transparent with you as possible. I will continue holding drop-in sessions throughout this year, and an open invitation is here for everyone.

Please look out for the notices on the screens, pop in for a chat and to raise issues which are important to you.  If they’re important to you, they’re important to me.

Finally, to those of you who will be taking end of semester assessments and examinations this month, good luck and I hope they go as well as expected.

I look forward to working with you all in 2023, and wish you the very best for this New Year.
