Date 24.07.2018

A member of the University of Northampton’s Learning Technology team has been shortlisted for ‘Hero of the Year’ at this year’s Women in IT Excellence awards.

Belinda Green, Learning Technologist at the University of Northampton, has been put forward for her work with the University’s Faculty of Education and Humanities and the support she provides to the education subject areas.

Belinda works as part of the University’s Learning Technology Team (Learntech) to provide support, training and consultation on the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching.

In her time at the University, Belinda has consistently gone the extra mile, most recently running several intensive workshops to support staff and students in setting up their online learning spaces.

Vicky Brown, Learning Technology Manager at the University of Northampton, put Belinda forward for the award.

She said: “I am so happy for Belinda, she is a popular member of the LearnTech team, has a tremendous work ethic and is always prepared to go above and beyond; is kind, considerate, extremely humble and so is not one to sit comfortably in the limelight. I am therefore delighted that she agreed to be nominated and thus to be acknowledged for her success.

“Belinda has gained a well-earned reputation with her academic colleagues in Education as the go-to person for all of their Learning, Teaching and Assessment needs. Her attention to detail is phenomenal; her patience and empathy with all of her colleagues is legendary.

“She is held in high esteem by all who come into contact with her. She definitely fulfils the University’s ethos of being ‘Super Supportive’.”

The winner of Hero of the Year will be announced at the Women in IT Excellence awards ceremony, held at Finsbury Square, London on 27th November.
