A round up of recent mentions in the media of the University, our staff and students.

In a New Scientist article about flies that eat the flowers they pollinate, one of the experts commenting is Visiting Professor Jeff Ollerton.

Jefferson Lake, Senior Lecturer in Multimedia Sports Journalism, provide commentary for BBC Northampton during the Cobblers game against Oxford United (listen again link not available).

Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies Dr Anthony Stepniak and students Kelsey Henson and Andrew Collinson summed up the BAFTA Film Awards with BBC Northampton’s Liz Jeeves.

Journalism students had a busy day recently, as they reported on the Wellingborough by-election. Jessica McLoughlin and Andy Durrant spoke with BBC Northampton’s Annabel Amos the morning after the results came in.

Jessica and Andy’s lecturer Kate Ironside appeared on several BBC Scotland radio stations giving her thoughts on Wellingborough.

Senior Lecturer in Midwifery Cheryl Thomas and her daughter Alex have started their own antental care and support business. The Little Bears Company offers baby massage and yoga, ‘Mummy MOT’s and more, as reported by Warwickshire World and the Northamptonshire Telegraph.

Details of our new BSc in Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management – with the first students starting in September – made it onto the Heart FM Northampton bulletins (listen again link not available).

For the Open4Business show this week, Martin Steers stood in as host. Three second year students from the University’s BA International Management provided the interviews with guests about trading or international business. Listen again.
