Open day, open doors: first completed academic building at Waterside is shown to potential students

Date 20.11.2017

The first academic building completed at our new Waterside campus opened to visitors this Saturday.

Potential students, their families and members of the public visited the site to see around and on top of the Senate building were opened during one of our regular open days.

Potential students and their families came to find out about the courses on offer at Northampton, talk to lecturers and current students and take a tour of the campus and facilities on offer.

The Senate Building has been designed to provide a flexible learning space where students and staff from different subject areas can work together.

It is also where the Vice Chancellor, University board and researchers will be based and, with a Harvard-style lecture theatre (the only one on campus), guest lectures will also take place here.

More than 600 guests were shown around the ground floor area that will serve as a meeting space and host events and exhibitions and they also had a bird’s eye view of the whole development from the roof terrace.

Our next Open Day will be held on 13 January 2018. See our website for more information and how to register.
