  • Dr Theophilus Shittu is Programme Leader for Architectural Technology.

    Dr Theophilus Shittu is an architect and researcher with special interest in sustainable architecture and urbanism. His teaching is informed by his research and active participation in activities of professional bodies and organisations such as CIAT, RIBA (East Midlands), ICOMOS (UK and Nigeria) and the UNESCO Chair in earthen architecture, construction cultures and sustainable development. Current research includes “the sustainability of earthen architecture in tropical climate”, and “impact of emancipated people on Islamic Architecture in pluralistic 19th Century colonial settlements’’. Both articles are under review and will soon be published.

    Dr Shittu has supervised doctoral research in the aforementioned areas of expertise and is willing to accept PhD students with similar interest.
