Staff Profile

  • Jack Hardwicke was appointed as Lecturer in Health Sociology at the University of Northampton in September 2021. Jack holds a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Research Skills. Jack is currently undertaking his PhD which is critically examining the management of concussion in competitive road cycling.

  • Jack’s research interests sit mainly in understanding how sporting cultures and individual differences influence concussion management behaviours in athletes. Alongside this, he is also actively investigating the intersection of injury and masculinity in athletes, LGBTQ+ experiences in sport and physical activity promotion. He is interdisciplinary and mixed method in his research approach.
