I have published work on the global history of fascism and the European far-right, the extremes of British fascism, both in the interwar and postwar period, and revolutionary politics in twentieth century British history. I also co-edit Wiley-Blackwell's online journal Compass: Political Religions, am an editor of the Mapping the Far Right book series and am an Associate Editor of the HIstoricising Modernism book series. I have also engaged in consultancy work with various state organisations on issues concerning contemporary far-right extremism.

My research gravitates around the far-right in Britain and Europe. This is historical, looking at the nature of the far-right (including fascism) throughout the twentieth century. I am also interested in the contemporary far right, and have published two reports on this topic, Lone Wolves: Myth or Reality, and the E.D.L.: Britain's Far Right Social Movement. I am also interested in politicised forms of modernism, based on my PhD research. Finally, I have given talks on the cultural history of Dylan Thomas.
