The University of Northampton joined over 80 exhibitors from all over the world at the LIFTEX exhibition which brought together more than 2,500 international attendees and 100 companies from the lift, escalator and access industry.

The event, which is held every three years, is organised by the UK leading professional body, the Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) in consultation with an international network of authoritative trade and advisory bodies. This year it took place on 25 and 26 May at the Excel in London.

The Lift Engineering team from the University presented their programme aimed at research, consulting and a specialist engineering education closely linked to the needs of the lift industry.

Professor Stefan Kaczmarczyk said: “The University’s stand attracted and engaged large numbers of national and international visitors from the whole industry, including former, current and potential new students. The interest generated by our offer at LIFTEX demonstrated recognition of the high standards of our education and research programme in the area of Lift Technology. The interactions taking place during the exhibition presented excellent opportunities for discussing the latest trends and technologies, networking and attracting new research and consulting projects.”
