Here you can find information about what to expect during your interview if you have applied for one of our interviewing Performing Arts, Design and Media courses. Full details will be emailed to you in your interview invite.

  • Where will my audition take place?

    Your interview will take place face-to-face. Register at the Innovation Centre which is located opposite Northampton Train Station.

    How long will my audition take?

    Your audition will last between 4 and 6 hours and will include some workshops, a performance, an interview, and time to chat with current students and academics about the course.

    Is there any preparation work to do before my audition?

    In preparation for your audition, you will need to memorise two speeches by heart. Please refer to your audition invite emails for details of what these speeches should be.

  • Where will my interview take place?

    Your interview will take place online using Blackboard Collaborate. For online interviews, you will require a device with video capability to participate.

    How long will my interview take?

    Your interview will last approximately 30 minutes.

    Is there any preparation work to do before my interview?

    Please send a link to two short audition videos for your interview.

    1) A short video outlining why you’d like to study your chosen music course (2 mins max).

    Then either:

    2a) For BA (Hons) Popular Music: please send a link to video footage of you performing on your strongest instrument, or singing, live or produced etc.

    Or,

    2b) For BA (Hons) Music Production: please send a link to video footage of you making music in a DAW of your choice, or of you DJ’ing, or doing live sound etc.

    Is there any preparation work to do before my interview?

    No later than one week before your interview, please email a PDF digital portfolio which includes between 8 – 15 examples of your best work. Please refer to your interview invite email for the digital portfolio requirements.
