For all organisations marketing is an increasingly important function. Whether it’s a charity seeking to raise funds, a business looking for new customers or a brand expanding into new international markets, marketing lies at the heart of these activities.

The marketing challenges of the future encompass the rise of technology, global competition, fast changing consumer trends and managing the entire customer experience whether that’s in-store or on social media. I

n this increasingly complex environment the demand for skilled marketers is increasing as is the presence of marketers on the executive board of major organisations.

Optional Work Placement Year

You are encouraged to undertake a year-long placement in between Stages Two and Three of study. If you meet the entry criteria, and choose to take up a placement year you will find it an invaluable experience that helps you to apply your learning in your final year and prepares you for your career. Whilst on your Optional Work Placement Year you will study a 40 credit module ‘The Placement Year Experience – Organisations in Context’. We offer a lot of support in helping you to find a placement, which can be in the UK or overseas.

Course Details

This course is focused on preparing you for your future career in marketing with an emphasis on providing you with the skills, knowledge and experience to make a real impact in your career. We do this by providing an engaging learning experience that blends the latest research with the opportunity to apply it to real life business challenges.

Our tutors bring with them a wealth of industry experience and classroom sessions are enhanced through the use of guest speaker ensuring that all learning is relevant to today’s challenges. Recent speakers have included the Digital Marketing Manager of SEAT cars, the Brand Experience Manager of O2, the Managing Director of craft distillery as well as a local entrepreneur who employs over 100 staff and exports to 27 countries.

All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements:

  • Minimum standard – IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent)
    for study at undergraduate level.

Admission to this foundation course is normally DEE at A Level or MPP at BTEC. However, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the course you wish to study

This is where you will build a solid base of marketing knowledge and practice that will inspire and motivate you to become a marketing professional. You will study six modules, of which five are compulsory and designed to complement each other.

Fees quoted relate to study in the Academic Year 18/19 only and may be subject to inflationary increases in future years.

Full Time: £9,250
Part Time: £1,350 per 20 credit module
Foundation Study Framework: £6,500 as part of a four year programme (subsequent years will be charged at standard BA rate)
Optional Work Placement Year: £900

The New York study trip is optional and the cost in previous years has not exceeded £1000 for flights and accommodation. You will normally need to allow an additional £200 for your expenses.
