How to Apply

Course Details

Our Events Management Top-Up course is delivered by a dedicated academic team with a broad range of practical industry experiences who also have a variety of research interests related to events, particularly in the areas of motorsport events, events marketing, consumer behaviour and event sustainability.

The course enables you to experience the responsibilities of delivering a live event whilst studying theory and techniques, allowing you to put your learning to practice. You will also have the opportunity to occasionally take voluntary work experience with external stakeholders. The practical element of the course allows you to develop critical employability skills desired by the industry and provides ample opportunities for self-reflection and personal and professional development.

Atlanta Lloyd has topped off a year’s industry placement by organising an event fit for a future king.

“It was the perfect event to finish my placement with,” said Atlanta. “Having a royal visitor was an extra challenge for me. It meant I had to plan every minute of the event and spent time working with the Palace’s close protection team to make sure everything would go smoothly.”

All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements:

  • IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands
    for study at undergraduate level

Entry Requirements

You will need to hold a recognised Undergraduate Diploma, such as an HND or equivalent from a UK education provider (or an international equivalent) in Events Management or related area, such as Hospitality, Tourism, Travel, Leisure Management or Marketing to be eligible for this course.

We accept applications from a broad range of educational backgrounds, especially if you have previously studied Events Management, Hospitality, Tourism or Marketing. If you have studied other subject areas such as Business and Management then we also encourage you to apply for this course.

Special Features

  • This course is delivered by a dedicated academic team that specialise in a variety of distinctive research themes including Events Marketing and Event Sustainability.
  • You will have the chance to contribute to the delivery of a live or virtual event giving you valuable experience and the opportunity to put your learning to practice. You will also have the opportunity to participate in optional study trips to London as well as a European destination. The cost of the optional trip to London would not normally exceed £85 for travel, tours and accommodation, whilst the cost of the optional trip to Europe would not normally exceed £500 for flights and accommodation. Please note you may need to allow an additional £100 for your expenses.
  • The Events Management team also aims to provide a regional or national study trip annually to a venue or event. In some cases you may be required to contribute to the cost of entry; this would normally not exceed £50.
