Our Business Joint Honours course covers a range of areas such as marketing, human resources and finance, to develop your entrepreneurial and employability skills. The course reflects industry needs, as a wide range of organisations (in fields as diverse as health, leisure and education) are now demanding higher levels of business-related skills. We introduce all areas of business, providing you the opportunity to choose a specialist area of interest, giving you the chance to shape your own studies.

Optional Work Placement Year

You are encouraged to undertake a year-long placement in between Stages Two and Three of study. If you meet the entry criteria, and choose to take up a placement year you will find it an invaluable experience that helps you to apply your learning in your final year and prepares you for your career. We offer a lot of support in helping you to find a placement, which can be in the UK or overseas.

Course Details

Some modules on our Business Joint Honours course are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) which means on successful completion of your degree you can receive a CMI Level 5 Professional Qualification in Management and Leadership. This qualification is embedded into your course so will require no additional work. As you study you will also become an affiliate member of CMI, giving you access to a range of knowledge and support services from CMI to enhance your learning and boost your employability prospects. Recent studies have found that 75% of employers believe that graduates should pursue professional qualifications such as CMI as evidence of practical skills, so studying our Joint Honours will give you a head start.

Joint Honours Study

If you choose to study a Joint Honours degree at the University of Northampton you can select a programme that suits your interests and strengths. This option opens up a host of possibilities to you, offering a wide range of opportunities for careers and further study at your fingertips. In the Joint Honours programme, you will select two subjects as joint for stage one.
