The Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) has developed this short, three month Professional Leather Development course running from January to March, designed to enable those in employment greater accessibility to University level training. This intensive course provides a comprehensive understanding of leather science and technology by combining theory and practical modes of delivery.
With the current recognised shortage of skills within the leather industry, companies are continuously looking for development programmes for key employees. The course is divided into several individual units that are studied intensively for one or two week periods, as well as one optional unit that is studied throughout. Delegates are encouraged to develop both a critical and analytical approach to leather making and related issues.
An optional final portfolio reflecting the learning journey during their time at the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) will be produced by each delegate.
The Modules for this short course are:
- Process Operations
- Performance Process Operations
- Quality Evaluation and Systematic Problem Solving
- Sustainable Manufacturing within the Leather Industry
- Leather Science
- Research and Analytical Methods
Applications for this course can be made via our ‘Self Service Portal’.
