It is important that you have funding in place before commencing your course. If you have not yet made arrangements for paying your tuition fees, or are still undecided, please see the available options below.

Postgraduate Loans

Postgraduate Loans (PGL) of up to £10,609 are available for students who enrol onto a full (180 credit) postgraduate course.

  • A non-means tested loan up to a maximum of £10,609 will be made available to students applying for a full Masters courses commencing in the 2018/19  academic year
  • The loan will be paid directly to the student, into a UK bank account
  • Online applications for 18/19 are due to open in June 2018
  • The loan will be available to students across all discipline subject areas for all full-time, part-time and distance learning* Masters programmes

*Part-time and Distance Learning courses must be completed within a maximum of two years and payments will be paid 50% in year 1 and 50% in year 2.

Further information and eligibility criteria for Postgraduate Loans can be found on the HE Info website.

These loans are a contribution towards the costs associated with completing a Postgraduate Masters course and can be used towards tuition fees or living costs as you decide. The loan is non means tested and will be paid directly to you, rather than the University.

As the loan is not sufficient to cover both your tuition fees and living costs, it is important that you have further funding available in addition to the loan, to ensure you can cover all your costs before starting your course.

All self-funding students including those with an approved postgraduate loan studying either full-time, part-time, or Distance Learning, are liable to pay all or some of their fees in advance before they will be allowed to enrol.

If you have a postgraduate loan, your attendance will not be confirmed to the student loan company for release of your loan until the University is in receipt of the minimum fee deposit.
