I am Kullanit Kaewruamvong or Ploy, a final year student of the BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology. I aspire to be a professional architectural technologist and contribute to a more sustainable built environment. The final major project gave me the opportunity to design net zero carbon building using Revit and lumion for CAD and other simulation software to simulate engineering performance of the proposed University Gateway at the UON Waterside campus.

The University Gateway

Final Major Project

The brief is to design a new building addition to the Waterside campus, University of Northampton; The University Gateway, to serve as an art gallery and events centre, creating a central hub for the university linking to existing building both visually and with movement of people. Another purpose is to link the people of Northampton with the university institution. The site is located on a parcel of green land in front of the Learning hub and adjacent to the Senate. The Senate of this design should reflect the history of Northampton and at the same time complement the existing buildings, especially the two adjoining buildings i.e. the Learning Hub, and Senate buildings.
