Nene Hub Centre For Excellence In Built Environment

Final major Project

My Final Major Project as an Architectural Technologist is focused on administering a Centre For Excellence In Built Environment that is near net zero carbon. This project has enabled me to become proficient in using BREEAM tools to assess and implement sustainable measures whilst considering, cost effective measures that exceed clients’ expectations. This comprises the inspection of life cycle assessments, Net zero carbon framework to using EPD materials. I have been able to build a clear understanding between the interlink within Building Information Modelling and Project Management strategies to achieve a sustainable design/project from the modules I have undertaken within this academic year. Most importantly, I have become attentive to comprehend Building Regulations and British Standards. This was to help me create proposed floor plans that includes inclusivity and complies with current legislations, policies and regulations. Additionally, I have excellent understanding of RIBA stages from 0-6, from creating programme schedules during Stage 1 of the RIBA stages to defects liability in the handover stage.
