Booking Your Ceremony Tickets and Attendance

Students attending their ceremony do not need to purchase a ticket for themselves, but do need to register that they will be attending, there is no cost for this.

Guest tickets cost £15 each. Students are initially able to book a maximum of 3 guest tickets, with additional tickets being released closer to the date of the ceremony if available.

Below is a guideline to when booking takes place for each of our ceremonies:

Children

The ceremony is unsuitable for very young children so no children under the age of 5 years old can attend the ceremony, so please do not purchase guest tickets for them. No children will be permitted to enter the auditorium even if they have a ticket.

Children are not restricted from the rest of the event, only the ceremony auditorium itself. There is a family friendly viewing area at Waterside Campus where the ceremony can be watched by those without tickets and children but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Details on the family friendly area can be found in our Graduation Venues and Viewing Ceremonies on Campus sections.

Receiving the tickets

All purchased guest tickets will be emailed 2-3 weeks before the ceremony to the graduating student. The student will be sent one email per purchased guest ticket. We advise students to either print or forward the tickets to their guests as they will need them on the day.

Tickets on the Day

Any remaining guest tickets will be sold on a strictly first come first served basis prior to the event. These will be sold from the Ceremonies Helpdesk in the theatre foyer.

On the day guests will be required to show their tickets to gain entry to the auditorium, this can be either paper tickets or on a tablet or mobile phone. Please note that when guests require their tickets the student will not be with them so tickets should be given to the guests in advance.

All tickets will display the seat that has been allocated along with the door letter guests should enter the auditorium through.
