Taking place from 23 to 27 January 2017, our annual Subject Futures Week is designed with you, our students, in mind. It is an exciting event and an excellent opportunity for you to explore the potential of your course and understand where your university experience can lead you beyond graduation. It also offers a unique chance to network with high profile industry professionals from the arts, TV, film, fashion and more.
On this page you can see the schedule for the week and find out more about the activities and the attending guest speakers. The speakers, including our own acclaimed alumni, will share their industry knowledge and professional experience, encourage and support you in your career ambitions, and offer advice on how you can make an impact when entering the world of work.
This week-long intensive focus on graduate career opportunities helps us to develop you, ensuring you’re not only prepared for the world of work, but that you can progress and move onto new opportunities. As part of our commitment to Changemaker values we aim to equip you with not only the theoretical and academic tools, but the real life practical experiences that will make you stand out from the competition. A graduate with a strong set of employability skills will be well-prepared for the future.
During Subject Futures Week we also invite everyone across the Faculty to get involved. For example, last year 11 Media Production students had the opportunity to work with our graduate and media producer Daryl Scott on the Subject Futures Week film. The students documented the event and interviewed the high profile guests from the likes of Vogue, Sky TV and the BBC. Watch the result of their work:
