Business and Law students encouraged to take on placements with big brands

Date 25.10.2018

Some of the UK’s leading companies will be out to attract the best and brightest undergraduates the University of Northampton has to offer at an upcoming event.

The Business and Law Placement Fair is taking place on Tuesday 30 October, between 11am – 2pm in the Learning Hub foyer.

Well-known names such as Barclaycard, KPMG and Enterprise Rent-A-Car will be showcasing the benefits of year-long placements with them at the event exclusively for University undergraduates.

Jenny Cartwright, Senior Lecturer in Work Based Learning, said:  “This event will be hugely useful to students looking to get their foot in the door at a company or for those that unaware of the importance of securing a work placement. There will be a variety of organisations exhibiting positions they have on offer including industry placements, Internships, law vacation schemes and work experience placements.

“The benefits of embarking on a work placement during a degree for students are abundantly clear. The contacts they make during their time on placement and the first-hand knowledge they pick up perfectly sets them up to excel in their final year of study, and gives the one thing all employers seek in new recruits… experience.”
