There is limited parking at St Georges Avenue car park 2 reserved for students who’s course is based at St Georges Avenue. Students must apply to purchase a parking pass in order to be authorised as eligible. This parking has been made available as there is no direct bus from the park-and-ride to St Georges Avenue, whilst students can still use the park-and-ride – travel to the rail station and then change to the free intercampus bus to St Georges Avenue at the Sol Central bus stop- it is recognised this will increase the length of their commute.
Commuting Blue Badge holders and ASSIST University Blue Badge holders can park here for free, but do require a barrier card and must be approved by ASSIST first. Please visit our ASSIST pages for more information.
Students must be based at St Georges Avenue in the main in order to be accepted for a pass, to apply students must complete the St Georges Avenue Student Parking Pass Application Form in excel format only and email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parking passes are administered in the form of a termly ‘tick box’ calendar, with 20 stays costing £20 (£1 per day), to reflect both part time and full time students and mirror the park-and-ride bus costs for students based at Waterside.
As well as purchasing a parking pass students will need to purchase a barrier card for a one off fee of £5, to gain access to the car park. Barrier cards will be valid for the whole academic year and will not relate to enforcement. Penalty Charge Notices will be issued if a parking pass is invalid or not present, regardless of whether a student has a valid barrier card.
The barrier card will only allow access to the specified car park, car park 2 at St Georges Avenue, and the parking pass is only valid in this car park.
Postcode restrictions apply, students whose home address is within 5 miles of St Georges Avenue (as determined by the AA route Planner) are not eligible to apply for a parking pass, unless they are approved by ASSIST, in which case they can apply for free parking outlined in the University Blue Badge section above.

Parking Pass Instructions
To use: mark the correct date for your stay to validate the pass and display in your windscreen visible to Security Patrollers. To mark: use a black pen and place a cross in the box showing the date.
Once you have reached your designated number of stays a new pass will be required. If you go over your designated number of stays or if the correct date is not clearly marked in line with the instructions above the pass is invalid and a Penalty Charge Notice may be issued. Please take extra care to use the pass correctly.
The pass is not transferable – the vehicle registration must match that of the car. If you do not use your designated number of stays within the term these can be transferred to the next term – take this pass to Newton reception to receive a new term pass and carry over the remaining stays.
Typically, barrier cards and parking passes will be available to collect two working days after payment has been made from the Newton Reception. Payment must only be made on approval of a successful application, parking passes that have been purchased and displayed in windscreens will not be valid if the vehicle has not been registered via the application process.
Purchased but uncollected, barrier cards and parking passes can be refunded within 7 days of purchase.
