Environmental Management System
The university’s Environmental Management System (EMS) is based upon a formal Environment Policy and promoted through an Environmental Statement describing the environmental commitments and objectives set by the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Committee.
The university’s EMS is externally accredited by Investors in the Environment (IiE). For the academic year 2018/19 we have received the ‘Great Green Star Award’ accreditation for the second year running, the highest accolade possible. The Great Green Star awards go to the top 10% of Green Level members who achieve a minimum of 95% during their audit, further bolstered by additional environmental projects, and their impact on the communities they engage with.
