University Business Support Team
Based within the Portfolio building at St George’s Avenue, the University’s Business Support team consists of experienced, accredited advisers who were formerly part of the Northamptonshire Growth Hub, together with additional support staff. Our continuing focus is to offer information, advice and guidance to pre-start and start-up businesses across Northamptonshire. We also support social enterprises on a national scale through our Inspire2Enterprise brand.
Current projects and services:
The University Business Support team is a delivery partner in the South East Midlands Start-up Programme (SEMSUP). Led by Wenta, this project focuses on social enterprises and start-ups across the South East Midlands area. The support includes the provision of one-to-one advice, workshops, grants and incubation facilities.

The Ready2Grow project aimed to improve the capacity and performance of small and medium sized enterprises and encouraged entrepreneurship across Northamptonshire. It supported enterprises from start-up to growth and encouraged innovation and the development of new skills, whilst instilling SMEs with the confidence to apply for growth funding.
The Innovate Northamptonshire project aimed to promote research and innovation within the small and medium sized enterprises across Northamptonshire. The project offered a combination of workshops, advice, demonstrator visits and financial assistance depending upon the innovation need of each SME.
