Length of Session: 2.5 hours face to face or online workshop, participants need to come with a particular module in mind and approved Module Learning Outcomes

Designing appropriate summative and formative assessment for semesterised teaching

What staff need(s) will the workshop meet?

I need to change the assessment/s in my module so that they are more suited to semesterised teaching.

I have some ideas about how the assessment/s could change, but I’d like to ensure alignment with the programme outcomes and assessment strategy.

I’d like to explore some formative assessment ideas to help students build knowledge and skills for the assessments.

Through this you will...

  • use your module learning outcomes to develop assessments appropriate to semesterised teaching.

  • consider the aims and context of assessment in your module and programme to ensure your assessment/s support employability and inclusivity.

  • identify appropriate formative assessment opportunities which could be built into the module to give students the support they need to succeed.
